Universal Studios Home Entertainment is set to launch "Smokin' Aces" on DVD and HD DVD Combo Disc format on 17 April 2007.
The story of Smokin' Aces is based on a Mafia don who places a six-figure bounty on the head of a mob witness, Buddy "Aces" Israel. An array of assassins descend on Lake Tahoe, where FBI agents battle to keep Aces alive long enough to testify.
The energetic but violent film has a start cast that includes music superstar Alicia Keys in her film debut, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds ("Blade: Trinity"), Andy Garcia, Jeremy Piven ("Entourage"), Ray Liotta ("Narc"), Jason Bateman ("The Kingdom"), Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights"), Taraji Henson ("Hustle and Flow"), Chris Pine ("Just My Luck"), Martin Henderson ("The Ring II"), and hip-hop singer / songwriter Common, in his first big-screen appearance .
The DVD will also feature extra bonus footage and more than 18 minutes of deleted scenes with a surprising alternate ending.
However there are no details on pricing yet.
